BT Business Bootcamp

2016-03-04

Congratulations are in order to three Sutton Park Students; Omar Salem, Naoise Tobin and Heather Murphy. Following on from their success at the BT Young Scientist Competition 2016, the students were given an exclusive invite to attend the BT Business Bootcamp which took place in UCD this past week. The bootcamp focuses on bridging the gap between education and business, giving entrepreneurial students the chance to take their innovations from the classroom to the boardroom.

The students had an amazing week, being mentored and trained in the process of setting up a business as well as being given the opportunity to pitch their own original products. Special congratulations to Heather Murphy who won the overall individual prize in the bootcamp. The organisers reported:

"She [Heather] showed an in-depth understanding of the process of bringing an idea she had on paper all the way through to project commercialisation".

Well done Heather on a fantastic achievement and the beginning of what is sure to be a very successful career in business. Many thanks also to the Science Department for all their support and encouragement throughout the Young Scientist Competition and the Bootcamp.
