Sutton Park School was founded in 1957 by a group of leading local professional and business people as a co-educational and multi-denominational school which, while catering mainly for day pupils, retains the spirit and sense of community of a boarding school.

The school began its first year with approximately forty pupils about half of whom were full-time boarders. It has steadily grown and developed over the past fifty years and now boasts a modern campus and educates approximately 600 students from all over North County Dublin and a wide range of countries from all over the world. The Primary & Intermediate Section of the school accepts boys and girls from the age of four.

Our Secondary School contains over 450 students. Approximately 30% of our students are from an international background.  The School is accredited to the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  The Secondary School is also endorsed by the Irish Department of Education and subject to regulation and inspection.  Inspection reports are available in the Downloads section of this website.

Sutton Park School prides itself on providing pathways for students of all abilities and backgrounds to a nurturing education and opportunity at the next level.

Facilities

The centre-piece of the school consists of a large Georgian House with a modern block of 20 classrooms extending from the side and reaching back into the main body of the school. We have over 40 classrooms, including a large library and resource centre and study area.

Our classrooms are fully equipped with the modern technology required for education in the 21st century.  Students use devices to aid their learning.  These devices do not dominate their learning but serve as an aid to achieving the best they can.

Our Sports facilities are also impressive. We have a full size astro turf hockey pitch and another large, multipurpose sports field for athletics and a variety of winter sports. We also have basketball and badminton courts and a large gymnasium /assembly Hall.  We are currently in process of rebuilding and modernising this facility to state of the art requirements expected of a school such as ours.

Our Art and Science facilities are excellent and are an integral part of our charming campus.  We currently have 2 computer rooms and a fully equipped Design and Communication Graphics room providing the backdrop to our reputation as a leading STEM school.  Our Music  Department boasts a fully equipped and modern music room as well as various small practice rooms to ensure our reputation as one of the leading schools in the country for music is upheld.
